Actor's garden

The Színészliget was created in the spring of 2009 at the initiative of the originator Zsolt Hanák and the then mayor of the settlement, Sándor Verhóczki. We wanted to commemorate the greats of Hungarian theater in such a way that the place that honors them can be visited at all times.

There is no theater in Bogács, but there are notable occasions when famous artists make guest appearances. Through films and television, we know well those great actors whose artistic performance makes both dramas and cabaret comedies an eternal memory.

That is why we pay tribute to them with the symbol of impermanence, “sky-high” trees – to many who, although they planted their own trees recently, unfortunately only in his memory.

The first trees of the Színészliget were planted in April 2009, and in 2010 and 2012, the grove was further expanded. On the cross at the entrance to the Színészliget, you can see plaques commemorating the greatest Hungarian actors.
